Free books online

You will find links to books on Amazon on the side of my blog, but if you want to use some of these wonderful books with your children for a fraction of the cost, you can print out these books and have them comb-bound. It will cost you a bit of paper, ink and of course the cost of having them bound (you do this at an office supply store, I use Office Depot, they even give discounts for bulk orders--works out from a little over $1 to $3 per book), but we are using a number of these currently and they are quite useful.

The compiling process--I print out two-to-a page and cut them in half.

This is a MUST for anyone serious about protecting their children from the deceptions prevalent in the age in which we live.


Handbook of Nature Study
An exhaustive book--too much to print out, but great to have on your hard drive. 


Heman Reader For Female Schools
Encourages young women to be godly ladies.

A fun supplement

Parables From Nature
Uses nature to teach Biblical principles


McGuffey's New First Reader
You can find more of these--this is not the original 1836 version, so it is not as overtly evangelistic


Franklin's Second Reader
 This is another forgotten but good set of readers--a lot like the ecclectic series, even has grammar and math that were published in the same group
