I learn something new with any of the posts you write and I appreciate the viewpoint you share--it is encouraging and makes me really think about my own life and my life's purpose. Awesome awesome words. Thank you so much for sharing. I only have 9 kids (with 6 left at home). I don't see us as having a large family. Maybe because this is my "norm" or what I don't know. I do have to remind people that God calls us all for different things...including the size of our families and how our families are grown. Two-thirds of our kids are adopted and we are preparing for more.

Very true. I have done a variety of things: worked full-time (before child), worked part-time & worked from home (with 1 child), and now full-time at home and working from home (still 1 child). I have to say, staying at home full-time is the hardest of all the combinations! Too bad we don't actually get paid what we are worth : )

That woman is a spiritual powerhouse, and when her children were tiny she would prop her Bible up on the windowsill above the kitchen sink and read and pray while she was washing dishes...

Thank you! I needed this post. I too like to decorate with nature. I've cut tall grass just after winter and filled a huge granite pitcher. I have pussy willows and peacock feathers filling canning jars. I've used thick, sturdy branches for curtain rods and to display pictures and artwork. I've filled bowls with spray painted pinecones and thistles. I like free and it's so plentiful!! Prayer is so vital to "see" with new eyes what is outdoors and what can be re-fashioned into something useful.

God has begun my husband and I on this wonderful journey of trusting Him with our family size. I just found out Number #4 is on the way this morning. It is amazing how everything changes in an instant...and yet...nothing changes at all! I can't believe He led me to read this very article to show me I am not alone. This blessed me. My husband and I have four children and we are planning another two in the near future (God willing). My husband and I have really been spending more time with the Lord and I had a thought if it might be best to just stop at 4 so that I can devote more time to the Lord and what He has for me to do. Then the Lord gently reminded me that my children ARE what HE wants me to do. LOL.
I am a homeschooling mom also. (My two oldest are school age; 6 & 7) and then I have two little ones (2 and 8 mos.) I feel like I want to spend more time being like Mary rather than Martha. Yet, the Lord honors my heart and He shows me how to manage my time during my day, and also at night when the little ones are sleeping to spend time just sitting at His feet. He also helps me to raise my children with excellence so that they are highly praised out in public. (Not that I do it for that reason, I do it to please my Heavenly Father)
I am very quick to give Him all the glory because I know that He has lead me every step of the way, and given me the grace to do all He's asked me to do.
Thank you for confirming what He has already ministered to my heart. :)
